Our best guess at what all those abbreviations mean (we think)

We don't have a complete list of police abbreviations, and to be honest, some of them seem to be created on the fly.

But here is a list of the most commonly used abbreviatons, and what (we think) they mean.

We know this is not a complete list - if you find a new abbreviation, please email Daily Crime Report and we will do our best to get a translation.

AO Arresting officer
UUMV Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
BMV Burglary of a motor vehicle
CP or COMP Complainant (complaining person)
RO Reporting officer
HPC Harassing phone calls
FLID Fled without leaving identification
F/V Family violence
O/T Out of town (eg O/T stolen property)
Duty on strike Failed to follow law (your 'duty') regarding exchanging information after an accident
MIR Miscellaneous incident report
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT A felony-class assault
M/C ASSAULT Assault, Class C Misdemeanor
M/A Misdemeanor
